Mango Haze is a Sativa-leaning THCa flower strain from Mr. Nice Seedbank, built from Haze, Northern Lights #5 and Skunk #1 genetics as a sister line to Super Silver Haze. This living soil batch tests at 31.411% THCa with 32.893% total cannabinoids and 2.81% total terpenes, led by terpinolene at 1.12% — about 40% of the entire terpene profile. That gives this batch the bright, ripe-tropical, piney Haze character the strain is known for, backed by top-shelf potency.
Mango Haze is a Sativa-leaning hybrid grown here in living soil. This batch tests at 31.411% THCa, 27.686% total THC and 32.893% total cannabinoids, with Δ9-THC at 0.138% and total CBD at a trace 0.030%. The minor cannabinoid fraction is led by CBGa at 0.780%, followed by CBCa 0.199%, THCVa 0.170%, CBC 0.059%, CBG 0.056%, CBDa 0.034%, Δ8-THC 0.026%, CBDVa 0.011% and CBN 0.010%.
Total terpenes come in at 2.81%, and the profile is clearly terpinolene-led: terpinolene 1.12% (40% of the profile), trans-caryophyllene 0.49% (17%), β-myrcene 0.30% (11%), ocimene 0.16%, α-humulene 0.11%, limonene 0.10% and guaiol 0.10%. Below that sit β-pinene 0.08%, linalool 0.07%, α-pinene 0.06%, menthol 0.06%, α-phellandrene 0.05%, α-terpinene 0.05%, δ-3-carene 0.04% and sabinene 0.03% — fifteen terpenes above the reporting limit in all.
How it lines up with the strain’s reputation. Leafly’s Mango Haze profile — the most-reviewed published profile for this strain — lists terpinolene as the dominant terpene, with myrcene and caryophyllene behind it. This batch matches that pattern, with caryophyllene and myrcene simply trading places in the supporting roles. Some retail cuts sold under the name are reported myrcene-led, and the breeder publishes no terpene data, so we describe this as consistent with the strain’s best-documented profile rather than as “the” official one.
The breeder describes Mango Haze’s aroma as “fully ripe mangos,” and this batch earns it. The 1.12% terpinolene drives the top end — fresh, sweet, piney-floral with a fruity lift — while the 0.16% ocimene adds a green, tropical sweetness that pushes it toward ripe stone fruit. Underneath, 0.49% trans-caryophyllene and 0.11% α-humulene bring a peppery, woody spice, and the 0.30% myrcene gives it an earthy base. Small amounts of guaiol, α-phellandrene and δ-3-carene add a faint piney, incense-like edge typical of old-school Haze.
On the palate: sweet mango and tropical fruit on the draw, a clean pine-and-herb middle, and a peppery, lightly spicy Haze finish on the exhale. Weedmaps users most often describe its flavor as mango and pepper; AllBud describes sweet mango over earthy haze and skunky notes. Both line up with this batch’s chemistry.
Mango Haze is classified Sativa or Sativa-leaning by most sources. Leafly lists it as a sativa, SeedFinder calls it “mostly sativa,” and the breeder calls it a slightly sativa-dominant hybrid. AllBud and Weedmaps list it as a hybrid. The breeder describes the effect as cerebral and dream-like, able to spark creativity and introspection. Leafly users most commonly report energetic, focused and uplifted effects, and AllBud describes it as uplifting and non-sedating.
This batch’s chemistry supports the daytime placement. Terpinolene-dominant chemotypes are conventionally associated with bright, heady, alert presentations, and with myrcene in a supporting role at 0.30% there is little sedating weight here. Expect a clear, energetic, head-forward onset with a mild body ease behind it from the caryophyllene. Best for daytime, creative work, focused projects and being out and about. At 31.411% THCa this is a strong batch — the most commonly reported side effects are dry mouth and dry eyes, and some users report feeling anxious at higher doses, so start small if you are new to Haze-heavy sativas or to this potency band.
Mango Haze comes from Mr. Nice Seedbank, the breeding house founded by Shantibaba (Scott Blakey) and named for Howard Marks, the author of the memoir Mr Nice. The breeder credits the strain to Nevil Schoenmakers and Shantibaba. Howard Marks was the company’s public face and namesake, not a breeder of the strain.
Genetics. The breeder describes Mango Haze as roughly 50% Haze, 25% Northern Lights #5 and 25% Skunk #1. SeedFinder’s genealogy gives the exact cross: a (Haze × Haze) × Northern Lights #5 mother bred to a (Haze × Haze) × Skunk #1 father. It is a parallel line to Super Silver Haze — the same Haze father, with a mother that is a sister of the Super Silver Haze mother. No source documents an exact release year; it dates to the breeder’s early catalog around the turn of the 2000s.
On awards, the honest version. Some sources, including Wikipedia, say Mango Haze placed at the 1998 High Times Cannabis Cup. The official 1998 results list Super Silver Haze, El Niño and a hash entry — not Mango Haze. We found no verified cup win for Mango Haze as flower in any year. Its sister line Super Silver Haze did win the Cannabis Cup in 1998 and 1999, but those awards belong to that strain, not this one. We are not calling this flower award-winning.
Do not confuse with: Mango (also sold as Mango OG, an indica), Mango Kush, Mango Tango, Mango Sherbert and Strawberry Mango Haze — all different strains, most of them myrcene-led. Also distinct: Green House Seeds’ Arjan’s Ultra Haze #2, sometimes sold as “Mango Haze”; CBD Mango Haze from CBD Crew, a high-CBD derivative; and Super Lemon Haze, which is a different cross entirely.

Is Mango Haze Indica or Sativa?
Mango Haze is Sativa-leaning. Leafly classifies it as a sativa, SeedFinder calls it mostly sativa, and the breeder, Mr. Nice Seedbank, describes it as a slightly sativa-dominant hybrid. AllBud and Weedmaps list it as a hybrid. With roughly 50% Haze in its genetics, it presents as a head-forward, daytime strain.
What does Mango Haze taste like?
Sweet ripe mango and tropical fruit up front, a fresh pine-and-herb middle, and a peppery Haze spice on the finish. In this batch the fruit-and-pine top end comes from 1.12% terpinolene and the spice from 0.49% trans-caryophyllene.
What is the dominant terpene in this Mango Haze batch?
Terpinolene at 1.12%, about 40% of the 2.81% total. trans-Caryophyllene (0.49%) and β-myrcene (0.30%) follow. That terpinolene lead matches Leafly’s published profile for Mango Haze.
Doesn’t mango flavor come from myrcene?
That is a popular claim, but it does not hold up well. Analyses of mango fruit cultivars find myrcene in only a minority of them, and rarely as the main aroma compound. Mango Haze is a good example: this batch smells strongly of ripe tropical fruit while being terpinolene-led, with myrcene in third place.
Who bred Mango Haze?
Mr. Nice Seedbank, with the breeder crediting Nevil Schoenmakers and Shantibaba. It is a Haze × Northern Lights #5 × Skunk #1 line and a sister to Super Silver Haze.
Has Mango Haze won any awards?
We found no verified flower cup win for Mango Haze. Its sister line Super Silver Haze won the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1998 and 1999, but those awards don’t transfer to Mango Haze.
How potent is this batch?
31.411% THCa, 27.686% total THC and 32.893% total cannabinoids, with 2.81% total terpenes.
Store Mango Haze in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Terpinolene and ocimene are among the more volatile terpenes and carry most of this batch’s ripe-mango and pine character, so heat, light and air will dull the aroma faster than on a heavier, myrcene-led flower. Keep it sealed and cool.
